Audrey Pride

audrey_gray-0654 Audrey Pride has been a member of the Second Violin section since the 2012–2013 season. She began playing the piano at the age of four and the violin a year later. She is a graduate of Lebanon High School and earned a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Indiana University in 2010.

In 2012 she earned a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Northwestern University. Her primary violin teachers were Blair Milton and Mark Kaplan. As a performer, Audrey spent two years in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s training program, the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.

Orchestral career highlights include participation in Maestro Lorin Maazel’s Castleton Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Academy in Germany, the National Repertory Orchestra Colorado and the Aspen Music Festival. She also performed with the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida.

Audrey’s entire family is involved in music; her parents are both retired music educators, and she is the second family member to join the DPO. Her older sister, Allyson Michal, is also a second violinist, currently on a leave of absence.

In addition to performing, Audrey also teaches 24 violin students in the DPO’s Q the Music program.
