Michael LaMattina

Michael LaMattina currently serves as Principal Percussion with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and is the director of percussion studies at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He received his Bachelor’s degree in performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the Master of Music degree from Cleveland State University. Additionally Michael is an associate section percussionist with the Columbus Symphony, is an extra and substitute percussionist for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and is the principal percussionist with the Lancaster Festival Orchestra during the summer. Michael lives in Dayton with his wife, Lori; their son, Andrew; and their whippet, Honey.
