Robyn Dixon Costa has been Principal English Horn with the DPO since 2001.

Robyn earned a Bachelor of Music from CCM, a master’s degree from Temple University and a doctorate from The Ohio State University.

She is an associate musician with the Columbus Symphony and also plays with the Pennsylvania Centre Orchestra and University of Pennsylvania’s Woods Festival Orchestra.

While based in Dayton, Robyn served on the faculty at Capital and Otterbein Universities and the University of Dayton. An avid arts educator, Robyn has been a performer/storyteller with the Greater Columbus Arts Council’s Artist-in-Schools and Children of the Future programs and a resident artist with Chamber Music of America’s Rural Residency Program.

Robyn is a teacher trainee at the Philadelphia School for the Alexander Technique—teaching people how to use their bodies in the most efficient and pain-free way possible.

Her husband, Anthony Costa, is a former bass clarinetist with the DPO and is now Professor of Clarinet at Penn State University.

Robyn returned in March after taking leave for the birth of her daughter, Zoey Anne, on November 8, 2013.
