Mark Reis has performed as a Section Violist with the Dayton Philharmonic since 1988. In 2013 he was a guest soloist with the Dayton Philharmonic. The first registered Suzuki Viola Instructor in Ohio, he teaches both Suzuki and Traditional students through the Street and Reis Violin Studio in Centerville and Cincinnati, which he founded with Marna Street. He is a registered Suzuki teacher for both violin and viola. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member for Sinclair College, Q the Music, and Dayton Public Schools Stivers School for the Arts.

In 1983, Mr. Reis performed for Vice-President George Bush at the Vice-Presidential Mansion in Washington, D.C. for the National Business Consortium for the Gifted and Talented. He has toured with Steve Lawrence, Eydie Gormé and Andy Williams. He has performed with the Hamilton Symphony, Blue Ash Symphony, Middletown Symphony and the Richmond Symphony.

He earned both his Master of Music and Bachelor of Music Degrees from Miami University of Ohio, where he was a two-time recipient of the Cynthia Fisher Boeck Award for Excellence in Undergraduate String Playing, and earned the 1989 Graduate Student Achievement Award. He has given a paper to the American Musicological Society on Developing Concert Life in Cincinnati. He also studied at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University with Karen Tuttle, where he earned a Performance Certificate. His teachers were Bora Angelich, Raymond Stilwell, Margaret Pardee, Donald McInnes, Paul Coletti, Marna Street, Karen Tuttle, American String Quartet, Paul Frankenfeld, and Mary E.M. Harris.
