In previous years, Windborne and the DPO have brought classic rock to symphonic heights, performing the music of The Who, Michael Jackson, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and The Doors. In February, the magic continues with the Music of Whitney Houston.
As part of the Windborne Legends of Music Series, this performance will focus on the career of a truly beloved contemporary performer who has been referred to as “a talent without compare.” Whitney Houston had a remarkable singing ability, a powerful voice, and unique delivery that touched our hearts and souls. A singer, an actor, a producer and a model, Whitney had unmistakable talent. A true diva, Whitney Houston was named the most-awarded female act of all-time by the Guinness World Records. She sold over 170 million albums, singles and videos worldwide, and appeal extended to all ages, races, backgrounds, and continents.
Windborne Music will join the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra to celebrate this amazing woman and her extraordinary talent with an evening of The Music of Whitney Houston. Join the DPO, along with guest conductor Brent Havens, Broadway sensation Rashidra Scott, and Windborne Music for an evening of smash hits from the Prom Queen of Soul. Ms. Scott will bring Ms. Houston to life for the evening with some of her best-loved hits, including as "How Will I Know?" "I Wanna Dance with Somebody," "The Greatest Love of All," "Saving All My Love," "Where Do Broken Hearts Go?" and, of course, "I Will Always Love You."
